F-35 school impact
An updated study of the impact of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter training school at Eglin Air Force Base shows 59 of the 107 planes originally planned will have an impact of $613 million between 2010 and 2016. The impact will affect all areas of our economy. When they say impact, what exactly does that mean? One of the definitions of impact is a high force or shock over a short time period.
Well let's see, more people will help absorb the housing surplus right? But what else? How about impact to schools? Larger classes? More funding? Grocery stores? Traffic? Utilities? These are just a few of the areas that will be affected. They will both boost and stress the economy.
The possibility still exists that the other 48 planes may still come to Eglin, the Air Force is looking at other bases as well, to include Tyndall here in Florida. Locations in Idao and California also have been options.

Air Force to launch 'mini' shuttle
Interesting that the new mini shuttle belongs to the USAF. Originally designed to bring back a crew, now is configured for unmanned flight. I wonder how many people even knew of it's existence. Well we know about it now, and I suspect we will be hearing more about it especially since it is scheduled to launch from here in Florida next month. Check out this great MSN Video: Air Force to launch 'mini' shuttle
